New York City-based NYU Langone Health was awarded a $6.1 million grant for its program that provides support services for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
The funds will be used to develop and expand the health system's support groups, gatherings, care providing workshops, relationship management resources and other areas, according to a Dec. 21 news release from NYU Langone. The services will be accessible to caregivers in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
The grant was provided by the state's Regional Alzheimer's Caregiver Support Initiative and will be disbursed over five years.
