Three behavioral health-related roles are among the top 10 of Indeed's list of the 25 best jobs of 2024, with mental health technician topping the list.
Indeed, a job listing website, identified the top 50 jobs based on salary, flexibility, opportunity growth and availability. Mental health technicians, who earn an average annual salary of $77,448, had the highest number of jobs per 1 million total jobs among the list at 1,425.
Meanwhile, mental health therapists come in at No. 3 on the list, earning an average annual salary of $76,140. The role has also experienced a 132% increase in job share between 2020 and 2023.
Psychiatrist — which was the highest paying role on the list, with an average annual salary of $258,440 — came in at No. 7 in the rankings. This role saw a 36% increase in job share between 2020 and 2023.
Other behavioral health roles included on the list were behavioral health professionals at No. 17, psychiatric nurses at No. 18 and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners at No. 23.
