Houston police responded to the facility in the early afternoon Feb. 21, Lt. Larry Crowson told ABC affiliate KTRK. Three male patients were fighting and no weapons were involved. The incident left one person dead and another was treated and stabilized after being rushed to the hospital.
In a Feb. 22 news release, police said a man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead after a male suspect, Erik Bonito, entered the man’s room and assaulted him. Mr. Bonito was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with murder in the 209th State District Court.
