Pew Charitable Trusts donates $6.6M to address Philadelphia youth mental health crisis

The Pew Charitable Trusts is awarding $6.55 million to five Philadelphia-area nonprofits working to address the youth mental health crisis in and around the city.

The grants will be used to break down barriers to accessing behavioral health treatment, including provider and support staff shortages, insufficient and inaccessible facilities, and lack of specialized services, according to a July 13 news release.

Children's Crisis Treatment Center received $4 million to build a new site in North Philadelphia; Center for Families and Relationships received $1.8 million to expand its therapy services; and Child Guidance Resource Centers, Philadelphia's Children's Alliance and Penn Medicine's Pediatric Anxiety Treatment Center at Hall-Mercer each received $250,000.
