The first four months of 2025 have seen more than a dozen mergers and acquisitions in the behavioral health industry.
Here are 17 deals to note since Jan. 22:
- Jacksonville, Fla.-based US Pediatric Partners acquired Raleigh, N.C.-based Hope Services. The community mental health provider operates three locations in the Raleigh area, according to an April 22 news release.
- PAX Health acquired New Castle, Pa.-based Richardson Psychiatric Associates.
- Pueblo, Colo.-based Health Solutions took over operations at Grand Junction, Colo.-based Mind Springs Health. The behavioral health provider closed its 48-bed inpatient hospital in March.
- King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services purchased Palo Verde Behavioral Health Center in Tucson, Ariz., for $19.1 million.
- St. Paul, Minn.-based Partners Behavioral Healthcare acquired four intensive outpatient treatment centers from Minneapolis-based Nuway.
- San Carlos, Calif.-based April Health and Boston-based Wysa will merge, according to a March 13 news release. April Health partners with primary care providers to provide virtual behavioral healthcare, and Wysa develops AI therapeutic tools.
- Private equity firm The Stepping Stones Group acquired Fullerton, Calif.-based Gallagher Pediatric Services, an in-school physical and occupational therapy provider.
- Villanova, Pa.-based Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health acquired Strawberry Fields. The State College, Pa.-based company provides care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism or serious and persistent mental health challenges.
- Two Southern California-based autism treatment providers, Fullerton-based Autism Spectrum Interventions and Los Angeles-based Quality Behavior Solutions, will combine under the name Alongside.
- Rockford, Ill.-based Rosecrance Behavioral Health and LaSalle, Ill.-based North Central Behavioral Health Systems inked an affiliation agreement.
- Nautic Partners, a private equity firm, acquired New York City-based Proud Moments ABA. Another private equity firm, Audax Private Equity, sold the autism treatment provider.
- A group of four behavioral health providers combined under the name Well Behavioral Health. The new organization comprises four practices — Eating Disorder Recovery Specialists, Mental Health Recovery Specialists, Sanctuary and Well Williamsburg.
- Rockville, Md.-based Orchard Mental Health Group added six new locations through the acquisition of GBCC Behavioral Health and Oasis Behavioral Health Urgent Care.
- Behavioral health technology company NeuroFlow acquired Quartet Health, a value-based behavioral health platform.
- New Brighton, Minn.-based Meridian Behavioral Health acquired Gateway Recovery Centers.
- Autism therapy provider Already Autism Health acquired two providers, expanding into three additional states.
- PAX Health, a private equity-backed behavioral health provider, acquired Smithtown, N.Y.-based Harris Psychiatric Services.
