Dallas-based Children’s Health expanded pediatric behavioral health services by opening four specialized outpatient programs at Children’s Medical Center Plano, broadening access to care for children, adolescents and families in Collin County and across North Texas.
The programs include the Teen Recovery Program, Suicide Prevention and Resilience at Children’s Health, outpatient psychiatry and psychology services, and autism outpatient care, according to an Aug. 3 news release from the system. The Teen Recovery Program is the only program of its kind in North Texas.
The expansion follows growing demand for pediatric behavioral health services. The 2025 Beyond ABC report found that nearly 20% of children ages 3 to 17 have a mental, emotional, developmental or behavioral disorder.
Children’s Health serves more than 370,000 patients annually through its hospitals and specialty centers. The health system employs more than 11,000 team members, has nearly 2,000 medical and dental staff, and provides more than $682 million in annual community benefit across North Texas.
