San Francisco-based Amae Health, a provider of mental healthcare, is collaborating with Google Health Enterprise to bring wearable-derived data into its precision psychiatry care model.
The collaboration will allow Amae Health’s care teams to incorporate data from wearable devices — including sleep patterns, physical activity, heart rate variability and changes in daily routines — alongside existing clinical information, according to an Aug. 4 news release. The company said the additional data is intended to help clinicians detect changes in patients’ conditions earlier and better identify potential relapses among people with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder.
Amae Health said the initiative expands on its clinical partnerships with Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai, Somerville, Mass.-based Mass General Brigham and New York City-based NewYork-Presbyterian. The company is also working to develop a mental health composite score that would combine wearable-derived behavioral data with biomarkers, EEG data, voice analysis, medication response and other clinical inputs to provide a broader, continuous assessment of patient health.
