The Colorado House Education Committee recently passed legislation that looks to increase the number of behavioral health professionals in schools across the state.
HB24-1096 would make it easier for out-of-state school psychologists to receive professional licensure to practice in Colorado by creating the "School Psychologists Licensure Interstate Compact" with six other states, according to a Feb. 22 news release.
To participate in the compact, should it be approved, applicants would have to be licensed school psychologists, which includes completing 1,200 hours of supervision prior to licensure and passing a qualifying national exam.
