Autism centers fleeing Colorado

At least nine facilities providing therapy for children with autism in Colorado have closed in the past year and a half, The Colorado Sun reported July 24.

JumpStart Autism Center in Englewood is one of the latest agencies to close, which had over 40 clients attending its daylong behavioral health program — 70 percent of which were on Medicaid, the report said. However, the state's Medicaid reimbursement rates were not enough to keep the agency afloat.

Other closures include Kadiant and Hopebridge, which had locations across Colorado in Denver, Fort Collins, Greeley and Colorado Springs.
