Eight states have been selected to participate in a children's behavioral health state policy lab in Baltimore between Feb. 7 and 9, The Daily Record reported Jan. 31.
The lab aims to bring together state interagency teams, such as child welfare, juvenile justice, behavioral health, Medicaid and K-12 public education. These stakeholders will be able to learn from innovators in the behavioral health field to better fuel outcomes for children, youth and families through policies in their state.
The eight participating states are Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah and Wisconsin. In their application, each state was required to list demonstrated need, existing state agency governance structures, technical assistance needs and expected outcomes, the report said.
The lab is hosted by Health Management Associates in partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Casey Family Programs, National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors, the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA), the American Public Human Services Association, National Association of Medicaid Directors and the Centene Foundation.
