Washington county to invest $12M in behavioral health services

Yakima County in Washington is planning to allocate $12 million from the state budget toward healthcare and mental health services, CBS affiliate KIMA reported April 24.

The funds will go toward an expansion of Yakima, Wash.-based Triumph Treatment Services' substance abuse treatment center and inpatient mental healthcare center. Triumph takes patients from all 39 counties in the state.

The expansion will increase the facility's capacity by 200 percent and add 12 inpatient beds.

Ninety-eight percent of the facility's patients are on Medicaid. Its reimbursement rates from services don't fully cover the cost of additional capital or deferred maintenance of their capital facilities. The grant will help offset some of these costs, according to the report.
