Elevance Health puts $18M to youth, maternal health

Health insurance provider Elevance Health — through its philanthropic arm, the Elevance Health Foundation — added $1.6 million in additional grants to its support program for organizations working to address maternal and child healthcare needs. 

This round of grants brings the total funding from the payer to $18 million, according to a Feb. 21 news release from the foundation. The company intends to invest $30 million through 2024 to improve access to care, mental health resources and health-related social needs for women and children in the U.S.

The following organizations will receive more than $1.6 million each through 2024, the release said:

  • Cradle Cincinnati
  • Community Health Center of Richmond (Va.)
  • The Up Center (Norfolk, Va.)
  • Episcopal Health Services (New York City)
  • Expecting Relief (New York City)
  • Healthy Birth Day (Clive, Iowa)
  • Hocking-Athens Perry Community Action (Glouster, Ohio)
  • Merrick House (Cleveland)
