The University of Nebraska Omaha has received two grants totaling $1 million to support its clinical mental health counseling program.
The funding comes from the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska through the American Recovery Plan Act Award Program, according to a news release from the university.
The money will go toward program recruitment and retention to address Nebraska's behavioral and mental health provider shortage. The grants will also fund a clinical training instructor to manage the university's community counseling clinic, the release said.
University of Nebraska Medical Center is based in Omaha.
