States ranked by psychiatrists per capita

The District of Columbia has the most psychiatrists per capita, while Idaho has the fewest, according to January data from KFF.

Population estimates are pulled from the U.S. Census Bureau, which Becker's used to calculate the number of psychiatrists per 100,000 people for each state.

There are 58,879 active psychiatrists in the United States.
