Walmart has sold MeMD, its virtual behavioral, urgent, and primary care benefits platform to healthcare technology startup Fabric.
MeMD was founded in 2010 and acquired by Walmart in 2021, according to a June 28 news release from Fabric. It now provides virtual behavioral, urgent and primary care benefits for 30,000 corporate, institutional, and health plan partners and 5 million members.
Walmart Health announced its plans to close all of its clinics and shut down its virtual care options April 30. As of June 28, all 51 of its clinics have closed.
