SAC Health awarded $1.6M to support behavioral health

San Bernardino, Calif.-based SAC Health has received a $1.63 million grant to retain behavioral health professionals within the health center, which serves a region designated as a mental healthcare professional shortage area by the Kaiser Foundation.

The grant is through the Community-Based Organization Behavioral Health Workforce Grant Program, according to an April 12 news release from the health system. The funding will offer student loan repayments for behavioral health providers who have been with SAC Health for five or more years.

The grant will also be used for provider recruitment and stipends for clinical master's and doctoral education students.
