Acadia acquires 3 North Carolina treatment centers

Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare has acquired three comprehensive treatment centers in North Carolina.

The behavioral health operator now has 10 comprehensive treatment centers in the state, and 160 nationwide, according to a March 28 news release.

The acquired centers are in Raleigh, Greenville and Hillsborough, N.C. Acadia identified the areas for expanding comprehensive treatment in partnership with University of North Carolina's Center for the Business of Health in Chapel Hill.

Acadia's comprehensive treatment centers provide medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.

"North Carolina is a focus for Acadia to expand capacity and add additional sites of care given the state's immense need and progressive approach to behavioral healthcare treatment programs," Acadia Healthcare CEO Chris Hunter said in the release.
