9 behavioral health centers opening, expanding in 2 weeks

Here are nine behavioral health centers opening or expanding that Becker’s has reported on since Aug. 3:

  1. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital, based in Holyoke, Mass.
  2. UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh partnered with UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital to open a pediatric behavioral health walk-in clinic.
  3. Wisconsin-based ThedaCare completed the second phase of modernization to nearly double the capacity of its behavioral health services at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
  4. Odyssey Behavioral Healthcare opened a new Lifeskills South Florida campus in Fort Lauderdale.
  5. Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa, nearly doubled its inpatient behavioral health capacity with a new 24-bed behavioral health unit.
  6. Mental health provider Oaklawn held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new crisis center in South Bend, Ind.
  7. Strafford County signed a deal with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services to make 16 beds available for nursing home eligible citizens at Riverside Rest Home in Dover.
  8. The Mental Health Innovation Foundation and Omaha, Neb.-based Children’s Hospital & Medical Center partnered to develop a youth mental health facility.
  9. The Village for Families and Children opened a new urgent crisis center in Hartford, Conn.
