Mental health provider Oaklawn held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new crisis center in South Bend, Ind., The South Bend Tribune reported Aug. 8.
The center will offer 24/7 care to mental health patients in the South Bend area, including mental health assessments, medical screenings, drug prescriptions and referrals to long-term services, if needed.
The $1.2 million facility is expected to serve roughly 3,600 patients annually with its 25-person staff of medical professionals. Construction on the center is set to complete in January, the report said.
