6 behavioral, mental health centers closing

Here are six behavioral and mental health centers that are closing that Becker’s reported on in July:

  1. A mental health program in Los Angeles focused on providing care to individuals in vulnerable or crisis situations closed, after using only half of its $30 million in grant money.
  2. UNC Health Care will stop providing its behavioral health services at a facility in Raleigh, N.C., on Sept. 30, which will terminate jobs for 246 employees.
  3. At least nine facilities providing therapy for children with autism in Colorado have closed in the past year and a half.
  4. The Campbell Region Juvenile Detention Center in Newport, Ky., closed only six months after it opened in December due to a lack of staff. Patients were relocated to a facility hours away.
  5. Merit Health closed the only behavioral health unit in Mississippi’s Warren County.
  6. Good Samaritan Hospital is set to close the inpatient psychiatric facility at its Mission Oaks location in Los Gatos, Cal., this month.
