The department of athletics at the University of Oregon in Eugene has partnered with the university's Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health to develop a program addressing the mental health needs of student-athletes.
The partnership will staff clinicians to develop prevention programs and educational content, focused on K-12 schools, to improve the behavioral health outcomes of student-athletes, according to a Nov. 20 news release.
The program will first launch at UO Portland's new northeast campus in the fall of 2024, the release said.
