Philadelphia-based Wedge Recovery Centers will close by the end of May.
According to a May 5 letter to patients, the mental health and substance use treatment provider will wind down operations over two to four weeks.
The decision to close was made after three years of financial losses, CEO Jason McLaughlin wrote. Declining Medicaid enrollment and rising overhead costs contributed to the challenges.
“We have exhausted options to continue the operation of our programs, including through further downsizing, or through a merger with or acquisition by another organization,” Mr. McLaughlin wrote.
Wedge Recovery Centers operated seven locations in Philadelphia. It provided outpatient substance use and mental health programs and medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
