Johnson County in Iowa has created a new specialty court dedicated to mental health, The Daily Iowan reported March 27. 

Colorado is creating new mental health initiatives using money it's paying in fines for the long wait list for jail mental health services, NBC affiliate 9News reported March 27. 

Four libraries in Chicago will begin offering mental health services as part of the city's plan to expand its mental health network in all 77 neighborhoods, Block Club Chicago reported March 24. 

The North East Independent School District in San Antonio has been granted $2.6 million to fund mental health services for students and families, KSAT reported March 23. 

Care management platform MedArrive has partnered with maternity telehealth services company Ouma Health to provide maternal-fetal care to vulnerable women on Medicaid.

Alabama has the fewest mental health providers per capita of any state —  850 residents for every provider —  while Massachusetts has the most, with 140 residents per provider, according to a Mental Health America report.

Sacramento and Solano counties in California are in a current dispute with the state over mental health coverage for Medicaid beneficiaries, CapRadio reported March 16.
