Humana has invested more than $1.7 million in community organizations across Illinois to expand behavioral and maternal healthcare services and address housing stability and workforce development needs.

The investment aligns with priorities outlinked by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services and builds on previous grants addressing food and housing instability, according to a Feb. 18 news release from the insurer. With the latest funding, Humana’s total commitment in the state exceeds $3 million.

The 2026 grant recipients include:

  • Brightpoint (Chicago)
  • Illinois Public Health Association (Springfield)
  • Illinois Rural Health Association (Springfield)
  • Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Behavioral Health Workforce Center (Springfield)
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness Illinois (Chicago)
  • Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation (Sauget)

The grants aim to expand behavioral health awareness and peer support statewide, grow licensed behavioral health workforce pipelines across Central and Southern Illinois and support a statewide community health worker infrastructure focused on maternal and child health, the release said.
