Northwell’s Northern Westchester Hospital, based in Mount Kisco, N.Y., named Jason Andrus, MD, as chair of psychiatry.
Dr. Andrus will oversee inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services, focusing on clinical quality, programmatic growth and an academic environment dedicated to evidence-based practices, according to an Aug. 18 news release from the health system.
Most recently, Dr. Andrus served as associate director for electroconvulsive therapy at Northwell’s Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks, N.Y. He previously served as associate director of the emergency psychiatry division for telepsychiatry and education at New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Before joining Northwell, Dr. Andrus served as medical director for behavioral health at Wailuku, Hawaii-based Maui Memorial Medical Center and as staff physician at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Andrus succeeds Timothy Sullivan, MD, who served as interim chair of the Department of Psychiatry.
