Taft Parsons III, MD, is leaving his role as CVS Health’s chief psychiatric officer.
“Executives decide to try something different, and organizational structures and jobs change,” he said Sept. 11 on LinkedIn. “I’ve benefited from those changes more often than not, and I understand this is simply my turn to find another path toward improving healthcare.”
Dr. Parsons joined the company in 2022. In his LinkedIn post, Dr. Parsons said his team worked on clinical, health engagement, utilization management, and fraud, waste, and abuse efforts. Dr. Parsons mentioned projects that he said “differentiated Aetna in the space,” delivered “significant” return on investment and translated to savings for Aetna members getting therapy through MinuteClinic.
Prior to CVS, Dr. Parsons held behavioral health leadership positions at Humana and Molina Healthcare. Before his employment with payers, he worked for Detroit-based Henry Ford Health, according to his LinkedIn profile.
