Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare raised its full-year 2026 financial guidance Nov. 4 after reporting third-quarter revenue of $895.3 million, up 5.1% year over year.

Same-facility revenue rose 5.2%, driven by a 1.1% increase in patient days and a 4% increase in revenue per patient day. Net income attributable to Acadia fell to $34.5 million from $36.2 million a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA climbed to $176.4 million from $173 million.

Acute inpatient psychiatric revenue grew 11.3% to $524.8 million as inpatient volumes rose 7.5%, fueled by expanded capacity at new and existing facilities. Specialty treatment revenue fell 8.2% to $136 million, a decline Acadia tied to its Pennsylvania facilities and closures over the past year. Residential treatment center revenue rose 6.7%, while comprehensive treatment center revenue slipped 2.3%.

Acadia added 220 licensed beds in the quarter, including a 144-bed de novo facility near Jacksonville, Fla., and 76 beds at existing sites.

The company now projects 2026 revenue of $3.44 billion to $3.46 billion, up from $3.4 billion to $3.45 billion, and adjusted EBITDA of $615 million to $625 million, up from $590 million to $615 million.

“Our positive momentum is driving our increased full-year guidance,” CEO Debbie Osteen said in the release. Ms. Osteen said the 16 acute facilities Acadia opened over the past four years are expected to deliver about $60 million in incremental EBITDA in 2027 compared with 2026.

Ms. Osteen returned as CEO in January following Chris Hunter’s departure. Acadia operates 280 behavioral health facilities across 40 states and Puerto Rico and serves more than 85,000 patients daily.
