Sheridan (Wyo.) Memorial Hospital received a $2.5 million grant to implement a behavioral health care model, Sheridan Media reported July 27.

The funding was provided by the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust and will be used to open a new behavioral health unit at the hospital to serve the North Central Wyoming region.

The facility will feature an EmPATH — emergency psychiatric assessment, treatment and healing — unit, a crisis stabilization unit, a walk-in behavioral health urgent care, eight adult inpatient psychiatric beds and two pediatric psychiatric beds.
