U.S. cities with highest, lowest depression rates

WalletHub has released its “Happiest Cities in America” list for 2023. The study evaluated 180 of the largest cities in the U.S. on 30 different indicators of happiness, including depression rate, income growth rate and average amount of leisure time per day.

The following are the cities with the highest and lowest depression rates, in ranking order. 

Lowest:

1. Fremont, Calif.

2. Pearl City, Hawaii

3. Honolulu, Hawaii

4. San Jose, Calif.

5. Irvine, Calif.

 

Highest:

1. Huntington, W.Va.

2. Charleston, W.Va.

3. Knoxville, Tenn.

4. Vancouver, Wash.

5. Spokane, Wash.
