Ground broke on the 96-bed facility June 5, according to an email release shared with Becker’s. The hospital is on track to open in 2025 and aims to employ 170 staff members, including physicians, nurses, therapists and mental health technicians, serving adult and geriatric patients.
“[The hospital] will help address the growing need for high quality mental and behavioral health care services for people struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use and other issues,” Matt Biersack, MD, president of Trinity Health Grand Rapids, said in the release. “Southridge represents a sustainable, long-term solution and it will be a key piece of the behavioral health care continuum in West Michigan.”
