In the instance of a tie, the country with the higher total depressed individuals was ranked higher.

  1. Ukraine: 6.3 percent, approximately 2.7 million people
  2. United States: 5.9 percent, approximately 19.7 million people
  3. Australia: 5.9 percent, approximately 1.5 million people 
  4. Estonia: 5.9 percent, approximately 78,000 people
  5. Brazil: 5.8 percent, approximately 12.5 million people
  6. Greece: 5.7 percent, approximately 588,000 people 
  7. Portugal: 5.7 percent, approximately 578,000 people 
  8. Belarus: 5.6 percent, approximately 528,000 people
  9. Finland: 5.6 percent, approximately 311,000 people
  10. Lithuania: 5.6 percent, approximately 149,000 people
