Texas' $200M psychiatric hospital and 16 other new centers, partnerships in December

Here are 17 mental health centers, partnerships and acquisitions reported by Becker's that were announced, opened or finalized in December.

 

  1. Crossroads Treatment Centers, a national opioid use disorder treatment provider based in Greenville, S.C., opened outpatient addiction treatment locations in Memphis, Hermitage and Murfreesboro, Tenn. The group now has eight Tennessee locations.

 

  1. National mental health treatment provider Integrative Life Network acquired Shadow Mountain Recovery, a four-location substance use treatment provider based in Santa Fe, N.M.

 

  1. Hollywood, Fla.-based Compassion Behavioral Health partnered with Cigna, a healthcare and insurance company, to expand its mental health and substance abuse services to more patients. 

 

  1. Phoenix-based Meadows Behavioral Healthcare opened an outpatient behavioral health treatment center in Las Vegas. The health system has facilities in Arizona, California, Massachusetts and Texas, and intends to open centers in Denver, Houston and Austin, Texas.

 

  1. The California Department of Healthcare Services awarded $33.7 million to San Francisco's Department of Public Health to build new youth mental health facilities at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.

 

  1. Aliya Health Group opened a residential detox and mental health treatment center in Aurora, Colo. The company now has 12 facilities across Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Nevada, New Jersey and Washington.

 

  1. National mental healthcare provider Concert Health teamed with Raleigh, N.C.-based health system Med First to integrate mental health services into its primary care centers. Concert Health will be integrated into Med First's facilities in North and South Carolina.

 

  1. BehaVR and OxfordVR combined their virtual reality-based treatment companies and raised $13 million in a funding round. The combined company will provide mental health treatment for individuals using automated cognitive-behavioral VR therapy.

 

  1. North Carolina's health department plans to convert the Blackley Alcohol and Drug Abuse Treatment Center in Butner into a 54-bed psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents.

 

  1. New York City-based Williamsburg Therapy Group partnered with Nirvana, an insurance platform that automates insurance processes needed to access care. The platform will allow patients to automate coverage checks, claims filling and reimbursement methods.

 

  1. Xenia, Ohio-based TCN Behavioral Health Services plans to construct a staffed, 40-unit apartment building that will offer mental health and addiction services to its residents.

 

  1. National adolescent mental health treatment provider Newport Healthcare acquired Brooklyn Park, Minn.-based PrairieCare, a pediatric mental healthcare provider with nine practices, to expand its treatment services for children and adults.

 

  1. Dallas-based University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and the state's department of health and human services started construction on a new $200 million state psychiatric hospital in Dallas.

 

  1. Franklin, Tenn.-based Acadia Healthcare and Indiana-based acute behavioral health provider Lutheran Health Network opened a new mental health facility in Fort Wayne, Ind. The facility will provide inpatient care for adults with mental health issues, emergency stabilization services and multiple forms of therapy. 

 

  1. Oak Brook, Ill.-based Relief Mental Health, an outpatient mental health services provider, opened its second location in New Jersey, its 10th location nationwide. The facility will offer services including transcranial magnetic stimulation, medication management and therapy.
