Baton Rouge, La.-based Beacon Behavioral Partners has partnered with Carolina Psychiatry, a practice serving Anderson, Greenville, Seneca and Spartanburg, S.C.

The partnership aims to allow Carolina Psychiatry to “gain operational support to continue growing responsibly while preserving clinical autonomy,” Taral Sharma, MD, founder of the practice, said in a Feb. 12 news release from Beacon Behavioral Partners. It also expands Beacon’s national network and aims to strengthen access to behavioral health services in upstate North Carolina.

Dr. Sharma also serves as a clinical associate professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville.

Beacon Behavioral Partners is a private equity-backed, physician-driven organization that supports a network of independent psychiatric practices across the U.S. The organization manages nonclinical operations for affiliated practices.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
