Mental health issues among students nationwide are surging, The Washington Post reported Dec. 5. 

Aware Recovery Care, an at-home mental health treatment company based in Wallington, Conn., named Martha Mather its COO and expanded to Kentucky.

Ground has been broken on a new $200 million state psychiatric hospital in Dallas, Fox affiliate KDFW reported Dec. 5.

National adolescent mental health treatment provider Newport Healthcare acquired Brooklyn Park, Minn.-based PrairieCare, a mental health service provider with nine practices.

The national 988 suicide and crisis lifeline is back up and running after a widespread outage at Intrado, the telecommunications company that runs the hotline, according to a Dec. 2 report from ABC News.
