The funding for these projects and organizations comes from grants from the federal American Rescue Plan Act and will be used to open or expand facilities increasing access to mental health and crisis stabilization services across the region.
Nearly $4 million in funds was designated to a combined project between the mental health boards overseeing Clark, Greene, Madison, Preble, Warren, Clinton, Brown and Clermont counties focused on building a “step-up-step-down facility,” the report said.
Meanwhile, over $500,000 was provided to Champaign and Logan counties to send mental health professionals alongside police officers in emergency responses, and $500,000 was designated to the Darke, Miami and Shelby counties’ mental health services board to build a similar “step-up-step-down facility.”
