New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based nonprofit Northwell Health beat its goal to raise $1 billion to improve behavioral healthcare, cancer treatments and health equity programs in the communities it serves.
Northwell's Outpacing the Impossible program will use the funds to expand its pediatric behavioral health and research; improve its cancer treatment, research and support groups; and build a new outpatient medical center in New York City to make healthcare more accessible to the community, according to a Sept. 21 news release from the health system.
In response to surpassing the $1 billion goal, the nonprofit expanded its fundraising campaign through December 2024 with a goal of raising an additional $400 million.
