Autism Centers of Excellence research methods of diagnosis, causes of and treatments for autism. The NIH program also works to create and expand services for people with autism, according to a Sept. 6 news release from the organization.
The centers have advisory boards composed of individuals with autism and parents of individuals with autism to help researchers better meet the needs of the community through their work.
The medical centers receiving the grants are:
