The move is part of Ms. Hochul’s $1 billion plan to transform the state of mental health care in New York, according to a Dec. 6 news release. The funding will double the number of clinics across the state, including the addition of six in New York City.

Each clinic will receive $3.5 million in funding administered by the Office of Mental Health in partnership with the Office of Addiction Services and Supports. Thirteen service providers received first-year conditional start-up funding of $265,000 to establish clinics in seven upstate counties and three boroughs, the release said.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
