New York Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced conditional funding to develop 13 new certified community behavioral health clinics across the state.
The move is part of Ms. Hochul's $1 billion plan to transform the state of mental health care in New York, according to a Dec. 6 news release. The funding will double the number of clinics across the state, including the addition of six in New York City.
Each clinic will receive $3.5 million in funding administered by the Office of Mental Health in partnership with the Office of Addiction Services and Supports. Thirteen service providers received first-year conditional start-up funding of $265,000 to establish clinics in seven upstate counties and three boroughs, the release said.
