This investment is the second allocation of $300 million designated by Gov. Greg Gianforte to reform and update behavioral health and developmental disabilities services systems across Montana, according to a Jan. 22 news release.
The first part of the investment includes up to $7.5 million for mobile crisis response and crisis receiving and stabilization services in an effort to redirect patients from state-run healthcare facilities, local emergency departments and jails.
Meanwhile, up to $500,000 has been designated for the development of a crisis worker curriculum and certification course to increase the availability of behavioral health professionals in Montana, the release said.
