Montana forms behavioral health commission

Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte named his appointees to the Behavioral Health System for Future Generations commission.

The commission was formed through a bill signed into law May 22 and includes a $300 million investment in intensive and community-based behavioral healthcare and developmental disabilities services across the state.

The appointees are Patrick Maddison, CEO of Flathead Industries, and Janet Lindow, PhD, executive director and co-founder of the Rural Behavioral Health Institute, according to a July 17 news release from the governor's office.

The commission also includes state health department Director Charlie Brereton, state Sen. Bob Keenan and five other legislative members.
