The funding comes from California Governor Gavin Newsom’s $480.5 million grant to 54 facilities to support children’s behavioral health across the state, according to a Jan. 9 news release. It is part of the state’s Department of Health Care Services Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program.
The 13,000-square-foot expansion includes 37 new beds, which will allow the facility to care for 445 patients each year. It will offer drug and alcohol counseling, group counseling, peer support, medical monitoring, and dietician care for patients with eating disorders in addition to traditional mental healthcare.
