The mental health provider has partnered with Kentucky’s Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities and its deaf and hard-of-hearing services program, which services the roughly 700,000 Kentuckians who have some form of hearing loss.
The new program will offer deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals with mental health needs treatment in various settings, including co-leading groups and one-on-ones with a peer specialist. It is equipped to support between 30 and 50 patients and is funded in part by $90,000 from partners in the state department.
The new program will also offer discounted prices for interpreters through the American Sign Language Interpreting Service, the report said.
