The virtual treatment program offers group, family and individual therapy services patients can access from home, according to a Dec. 13 news release from the company.
“There are several barriers to mental healthcare in the state of Michigan, with more than 5.2 million Michiganders living in areas that have a shortage of mental health professionals,” Carter Barnhart, Charlie Health’s CEO and co-founder, said in the release. “Industrywide barriers including transportation, waiting times and cost have all prevented youth and families from receiving the care they need. Through our virtual [outpatient program] model, we are helping young people and families heal.”
The company’s treatment program is now accessible in 18 states.
