Arizona behavioral clinic owners plead guilty to $3.3M Medicaid fraud

Two Arizona behavioral health clinic owners pleaded guilty to $3.3 million in billing fraud.

According to a Dec. 20 news release from the Justice Department, CoEric Riley and Britney Gooch, operated New Horizons Behavioral Health in Mesa, Ariz. The two pleaded guilty to defrauding the state’s Medicaid and American Indian Health Programs by falsely billing for services not provided to patients. 

The two clinic operators are set to be sentenced Feb. 21. Both face up to 10 years in prison and fines up to $250,000.
