Aetna launched a neurodiversity navigation program for select employer-sponsored commercial plans and will serve members starting Jan. 1.

The platform is designed to support neurodivergent members and their families through one-on-one coaching, care navigation, training and digital tools, according to a Nov. 24 news release from CVS Health, Aetna’s parent company. It serves members regardless of condition type or formal diagnosis and includes access to providers such as Cortica, an autism care organization backed by CVS Health Ventures in 2023.

Aetna said the program will address growing demand for comprehensive support, citing a 384% rise in autism prevalence since 2000. It also noted that one-third of its commercial members identified as neurodivergent, have a neurodivergent family member or both.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
