10 behavioral health facility openings to note

Here are 10 behavioral health units and standalone facilities opening this fall Becker's has reported since Sept. 5. 

  1. Newport News, Va.-based Riverside Health System will open Virginia's first psychiatric emergency department this fall. The facility will open at the Riverside Mental Health and Recovery Center in Hampton, Va., and can treat up to 10 pediatric and adult patients at a time.

  2. Endless Mountain Behavioral Health has opened in Sayre, Pa., to offer addiction treatment services. The center, which opened its doors Sept. 12, provides over 100 beds to patients with substance use disorder.

  3. A MultiCare behavioral health clinic has opened in Spokane, Wash. The facility operates out of an old library in the Hillyard neighborhood of the city and is looking to grow to add more than 20 healthcare providers.

  4. Hackensack Meridian Health expanded and began operating an 81-bed behavioral health unit at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, N.J.

  5. Warriors Heart, a recovery and rehabilitation center, opened in Milford, Va. The 60-bed facility is focused on providing care for active-duty personnel, veterans and first responders with addiction or dependency issues.

  6. A new behavioral health facility is scheduled to open at the end of the year in Fort Collins, Colo.

  7. SunCloud Health, a national behavioral health services provider for patients with co-occurring disorders, opened an outpatient center in Gaithersburg, Md. The center will offer a range of services, including a partial hospitalization program, an intensive outpatient program and outpatient therapy.

  8. Latino Behavioral Health Services opened a new facility in Salt Lake City that will nearly double the number of clients the organization previously had the capacity to serve in Utah.

  9. Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington opened a behavioral health unit. The new unit includes a 17-bed inpatient space that treats patients ages 5 to 11 in one wing and 12 to 17 in the other.
  1. Highland-Clarksburg Hospital in Clarksburg, W.Va., opened an acute psychiatric unit to treat adolescent patients with emotional, behavioral and cognitive needs.
