Fifty-nine percent of adults in the U.S. said the past 12 months have been the most stressful of their entire lives, and 55 percent said they feel unable to enjoy life because of it, according to Clever's "State of Stress in America" report for 2023.
Personal financing and real estate website Clever surveyed 1,000 adults in the U.S. from Feb. 22-23 about the level of stress they experience on a daily basis.
Here are the seven most prevalent causes of stress, starting with the most common among respondents:
1. Personal finances (61 percent)
2. Mental health (57 percent)
3. Debt (55 percent)
4. Physical health (53 percent)
5. My home (49 percent)
6. My relationships (48 percent)
7. My job (45 percent)
