MetLife and Lyra partner on workplace mental health

Disability and absence management services company MetLife has partnered with workforce mental health solutions company Lyra Health to launch an initiative aimed at providing access to mental health services as part of members' recovery when they file a disability or absence claim.

The partnership will connect eligible employees to Lyra's network of over 28,000 providers through a referral at the beginning of their claim, according to an email release shared June 14 with Becker's.

"Disability and absence management services support our customers' employees during some of the most critical times, protecting and supporting their health during recovery," Juliane Kowalski, senior vice president of group benefits at MetLife, said in the release.

"Collaborating with Lyra Health is one way we can further support our claimants' holistic well-being during their claim or absence with available mental health offerings to assist their individual needs throughout their journey," she continued.
