Mr. Newson was most recently chief community impact and advocacy officer for Ascension Wisconsin, according to a Feb. 4 news release. He joined Ascension in 2016, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Mr. Newsom replaces Ann Leinfelder Grove, who has led the mental health and community services organization since 2018. She plans to retire.
Wellpoint Care Network provides outpatient and school-based mental health services for children, in addition to medication management. It operates an outpatient mental health clinic in Milwaukee.
The network also coordinates foster care and other social services.
